I am having a 8536SGO1 coil drop out on us while 120V power is continuously applied. What can be going wrong?
That size 5 coil has an electronic circuit embedded in it which has an anti-telegraphing feature incorporated. The coil will drop out if it sees any flutter or interruption in the feed voltage. After power is removed for 1 full second, the coil can be re-energized and the contactor will again close. If the power fluctuations are frequent enough, a timer may have to be incorporated into the circuit to eliminate the nuisance drop out.
