With an Electrical Interlock installed in a 60A or 100A, F-series, Heavy Duty Safety Switch, what is the timing of the interlock contact movement as related to the blades of the Safety Switch?
-On Switch opening (moving to OFF position), the Electrical Interlock contacts change status approximately 1 second or more before the Switch blades open, depending on the speed of the handle movement. -On Switch closing (moving to ON position), the Electrical Interlock contacts change status approximately 1.5 milliseconds after the Switch blades close. -NOTE: Some customers install the Electrical Interlock in a Safety Switch with the intent of causing downstream contactor contacts to open before the Safety Switch blades open, and close after the Safety Switch blades close. While this can be done in some circumstances, due to variations in size, operating speed, design, and condition of the contactor, we cannot guarantee this sequencing of the Safety Switch blades relative to the contactor contacts.
