How to check the input and output diodes on ATV61/71 drives.

Issue:
How do you check the input diodes and output IGBTs on ATV61/71 drives?

Product line:
ATV61 and ATV71

Environment:
All models, all serial numbers 

Cause:
Drive has faulted. Customer wants to do a full diode and IGBT check on the drive to see if it is functional.

Resolution:
Warning: This test need to be done with the power off to the drive and the DC bus discharged.
Sizes 25HP and below
Get a digital Fluke or similar meter and put it in the diode scale. Check L1, L2, L3 to PA/+  you will read 0.3 to 0.7 V in the forward bias direction and OL in the reverse bias direction. Using the meter in diode scale, check L1, L2, L3 to PC/- you will read 0.3 to 0.7 V in the forward bias direction and OL in the reverse bias direction. 
Now check the output terminals the same way put the meter in diode scale and check T1, T2, T3 to PA/+ you should read 0.3 to 0.7v in the forward bias direction and OL in the reverse bias direction.  Now check T1, T2, T3 to the PC/- terminals again you will read 0.3 to 0.7v in the forward direction and OL in the reverse direction.


On 30HP and above sizes
Get a digital Fluke or similar meter and put it in the diode scale.
Using the meter in ohm scale, check L1, L2, L3 to PA/+ you will read 40k ohms or higher in both forward and reverse direction.
Put your meter in the diode scale and from L1, L2, L3 to PC/-, you will read 0.3 to 0.7v in the forward bias direction and OL in the reverse bias
Now check T1, T2 ,T3 to PA/+ in diode scale you will read 0.3 to 0.7v in the forward bias direction and OL in the reverse direction.
