Is an IFM module required to connect an electronic PowerPact H, J or L frame breaker to an FDM display?

Issue:
Is an IFM module required to connect an electronic PowerPact H, J or L frame breaker to an FDM display?

Product Line:
PowerPact H, J and L frame breakers

Environment:
This applies to all PowerPact H, J and L frame breakers with Micrologic Ammeter or Energy trip units.

Cause:
Communications Component requirements

Resolution:
No the IFM (Modbus Interface Module) is not required when using the FDM (Front Display Module). The only component required is an NSX cord to connect the trip unit to the FDM. You may also use the BSCM in addtition to the NSX cord. In this case you do need to supply 24Vdc (-20% to +10% or 19.2 to 26.4Vdc) to the FDM which in turn powers the trip unit display.
