Cranking amps versus cold cranking amps (CCA)

Some Powerpack or Powerbox products manufactured by Xantrex show both Cranking Amps and Cold Cranking Amps on the the packaging.  These appear as two different numbers; this is because they are two different numbers, and they are calculated in different ways.  Cranking Amps is what you get when the battery is at 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees F); Cold Cranking Amps is what you get when the battery is at 0 degrees Fahrenheit, a much colder temperature.  For best comparison of how much 'juice' the battery will have for cold climate starting, always compare 'CCA' or Cold Cranking Amps.
