Gateway Device Discovery Application can't find Gateway or returns blank window

If the Gateway Device Discovery Application can't find the gateway or returns a blank window and then closes it, try the following:

1) start with the gateway connected via ethernet not wireless. Wireless can be setup later. 

2) reset gateway by removing xanbus cables, then pushing in AND HOLDING the reset button least 10 seconds after reconnecting xanbus cables. Wait a few minutes and try again. The gateway can take a few minutes to start up before it becomes discoverable 

3) temporarily disable anti-virus / internet security / firewall software and try again. This software often blocks the device discovery application. It would be wise to temporarily disconnect from the internet until the anti-virus / internet security / firewall software is re-enabled.
