Ask a Question

What is the difference between "charge control" and "load control" on my C-series controller?

The Operating Mode Jumper is used for configuring the C-series for charge control or load control
Definitions:
Charge control means the C-series controller is positioned between the solar array and the battery.
Jumper position: Charge Control

Diversion control means the battery is being supplied by an unregulated charging source (typically wind, solar, or hydro)
and the C-series controller is positioned between the battery and a diversion load.
Jumper position: Charge Control

Load control means the C-series controller is positioned between the battery and DC loads. This prevents DC loads from
discharging the battery too deeply. Most battery-based backup systems utilize inverters that have a Low Battery Cut Out
function, so a DC load controller is only necessary when DC loads are connected to the battery.
Jumper position: Load Control
