What would cause the DB resistor on the altivar drives to always be hot?

Issue:
What would cause the DB resistor on the altivar drives to always be hot?

Product Line:
Altivar Drives

Environment:
All

Cause:
The DB resistor is always hot and appears to be melting the cable insulation.

Resolution:
-If the DB resistor is always hot check your duty cycle to see how often the DB circuit is turning on and off.
-Try doing a full static check on the DB transistor
-Make sure the customers DB resistor is sized above the min recommended resistance rating for the drive.
-Also check the wattage value of the drive if the duty cycle is high you may have to increase the wattage size of the resistor.
