Is it ok for a GFI Ground Fault Receptacle to be used downstream of a CAFI/AFI Arc-Fault Circuit Breaker?

Issue:
Is it ok for a GFI Ground Fault Receptacle to be used downstream of a CAFI/AFI Arc-Fault Circuit Breaker? Will they interfere with each other?

Product Line:
Circuit Breakers

Environment:
Applies to QO/QOB/HOM breakers with CAFI or AFI suffix
Applies to GFI Ground Fault Receptacles

Cause:
There is concern that the Arc-Fault Breaker and the Ground Fault Receptacle will interfere with each other's operation.

Resolution:
Yes, it is ok for a GFI Receptacle to be used downstream of a CAFI/AFI Arc-Fault Circuit Breaker. One does not interfere with the operation of the other.
NOTE: Depending on the situation, we suggest considering use of the DF Dual Function circuit breaker. This breaker combines CAFI Arc-Fault Protection with GFI Ground Fault Protection, all in one breaker. This would eliminate the need for a downstream GFI receptacle. Example catalog numbers are HOM115DF, QO120DF.
