Can ANY of the 3-Phase, U.S., QO, NEMA 1(indoor) Main Breaker and Main Lug Load Centers be top or bottom fed?
Issue: Main Wire entry
Product Line: QO 3-phase load centers
Environment: Top or Bottom feeding
TOP FEEDING: For ALL NEMA 1:
ALL of the U.S. QO 3-phase load centers, NEMA 1 (indoor) come with the Main Breaker or Main Lugs located at the top of the load center interior and can be top fed.
BOTTOM FEEDING: For ALL NEMA 1: The two small FIXED main lug only, QO 3-phase load centers, catalog numbers QO403L60N(F or S) can be Top Fed, but these load centers CANNOT be rotated for bottom feeding. To bottom feed these two, the incoming wires can enter through the bottom endwall and either go directly into the Main Lugs, depending on the load center interior layout, OR the wires can be fed up passed the interior through the gutter area and looped around into the Main Lugs.
ALL of the remaining FIXED main lug only, QO, 3phase, NEMA 1(indoor) load centers, can be bottom fed by rotating the complete load center and cover. This will NOT cause the labeling to be "upside down", it will just start the circuit counting at the bottom of the cover where the Main lugs are located, but it will read appropriately.
ALL of the Convertible main breaker, QO 3-phase, NEMA 1(indoor) load centers can be top fed. BUT to bottom feed these load centers, the load center and cover must be rotated 180 degrees, THEN the main breaker MUST be removed and rotated 180 degrees, so the 'ON' position of the breaker is in the top location.
