WebX does not display Mimics, Alarms or Lists in Internet Explorer

The following errors might get displayed in WebX starting from ClearSCADA 2015 R1 when Internet Explorer is being used:

  • "Error downloading <MIMIC NAME> - 500 Internal Server error" - when displaying Mimics
  • "Error : GetAlarmInfo Failed : not well-formed (invalid token)" - when displaying the Alarm List
  • "Error : prepare query Failed : not well-formed (invalid token)" - when displaying Event/Query Lists

A common cause of these errors is the Original WebX being configured to use custom secure or non-secure ports. To resolve this issue, please do the following:

  • Launch Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager and click on the ClearSCADA site (Note: In ClearSCADA 2015 R1, the ClearSCADA site needs to be expanded further and the WebX component needs to be clicked on instead). 
  • Click on the Application Settings as seen below.
  • In the Application Settings section, locate the ScadaHostURL and change its value to point to the correct port that the Original WebX uses for either its secure or non-secure connection. In the example below, the Original WebX had its non-secure port configured to 81.
  • Restart ClearSCADA site from the Manage Website section in Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
  • Restart the Internet browser.
